Sand ~ Gallery 2 (2014)

Sand 24 ~ 24th August 2014 ~ 377ft ~ Brean, Somerset, UK

Following on from my Sand 11 artwork, my latest piece at Brean was a continuation of fractal geometry. The central element is a 3D representation of a Sierpinski octahedron. Thanks to my usual crew of Mirka Stadtruckerova, Stuart Dike, and Paul Burton for your help creating this 377ft mind bender, and to Mat Gyro for the additional photography.

Sand 23 ~ 10th August 2014 ~ 263ft ~ Brean, Somerset, UK

Here’s my latest piece of sand art which I made on 10th Aug with the help of Mirka Stadtruckerova, Stuart Dike, and Paul Burton. It’s 263 feet across and is a variation of the Sand 18 design. We were lucky to obtain any images of this one as a heavy rain shower obliterated the artwork within minutes of completion!

 Sand 22 ~ National Trust logo ~ 30th July 2014 ~ 186ft ~ Brean, Somerset, UK

I had the pleasure of working with The National Trust on 30th July. The Trust manage Brean Down where we make most of our sand art, therefore it was an appropriate location to create this 186ft version of their oak leaf logo. Thanks to Paul Burton, Mirka Stadtruckerova, Stuart Dike, the NT Rangers & volunteers for your participation with this fun and interesting project.

Sand 19 ~ 26th May 2014 ~ 302ft ~ Weston Super Mare, Somerset, UK

Here’s my latest piece of sand art which I made with the help of Paul Burton, Mirka Stadtruckerova, and Stuart Dike on 26th May below the pier at Weston-Super-Mare, Somerset, UK. The patchy wet sand meant we had to construct it in stages, but thankfully we completed the 300ft triangular design before the incoming tide had chance to erase it.

Sand 18 ~ 18th May 2014 ~ 263ft ~ Brean, Somerset, UK

Here is my latest 263ft diameter piece of sand art which I made at Brean, Somerset, UK on the 18th of May 2014. Along with my usual team of dedicated helpers Paul Burton, Mirka Stadtruckerova, and Stuart Dike), I was also joined by fellow land artist Simon Beck who creates the amazing snow drawings around the French ski resort of Les Arcs. He assisted us with the ‘coloring in’ phase of my 3d hexagonal artwork, and then with the help of Mirka, Simon created the freestyle sierpinski triangle design next to ours in double quick time.
